Community School - Second Chance

ENROLLMENT PROCESS FOR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN A PISD SCHOOL

Community School is a consortium high school of choice in the Pasadena Independent School District. It offers a self-paced academic platform to the district’s growing number of students who are at-risk of not graduating from high school.

STEP 1: Registration for Enrollment at Community School begins with a referral from the Counselor at the student’s home high school campus. Students interested in enrolling at Community School will begin by contacting their home campus Counselor.

STEP 2: After the Counselor has submitted the online referral, Community School will review the student’s transcripts and contact the student and parent via email for additional pre-interview steps, including an online data collection form.

STEP 3: All students who are being considered for enrollment at Community School must attend an interview with the Principal and Assistant Principal.  This interview will be scheduled after STEP 2 is complete.

STEP 4: At the end of the interview, students will be informed whether they have been accepted for enrollment. Students accepted for enrollment will be withdrawn from their home campuses and complete their remaining credits toward graduation at Community School.  Once credits are complete, students will be eligible to receive a diploma from and walk at graduation with their home campuses.
